PCIT Certification Training

This training will review the theoretical and empirical basis of PCIT and cover the basic skills required to conduct PCIT with fidelity.
Participants will work toward mastery of the skills required to complete certification as a PCIT therapist through PCIT International.

Join us for a 5-part CEU and case consultation event in the Fall of 2024. Dr. Scott Secor will offer monthly 1.5 hour didactics on "Assessing Personality Organization and Applying it to Treatment Planning in Therapy."
Following the CEU's, we will be hosting group case consultations for community providers. All case consultations will be led by licensed providers.

In-House Clinical Training
Renew Counseling Center is the primary clinical training facility for graduate students enrolled in Southern Nazarene University’s Graduate Programs in Counseling Psychology. Students pursuing the Master of Science in Counseling Psychology will train internally for one year at Renew Counseling Center during their second year in the program. Select third-year students will complete their internship experience at Renew Counseling Center. Renew also offers monthly CEU trainings, PCIT certification, and play therapy training for community clinicians.
Masters Level Practicum Students/Interns
and Doctoral Practicum Students
As a trainee at Renew, students receive:
- Weekly one-on-one supervisor provided by licensed professional counselors and psychologists
- Weekly 1.5 hour didactics focusing on professional development (see the Fall 2023 Training Schedule)
- Weekly one hour group supervision led by licensed professional counselors and psychologists
- Training funds for continued education outside of Renew
All clinical interns participate in the following clinical activities:
- Carry a caseload of individual clients
- Conduct weekly psychoeducation groups for the SNU community and broader community
- Training in a rotation including options to recieve experience with geriatric populations at Southern Plaza Retirement Center, play therapy or PCIT, children at Bethany schools or the SNU Lab School, community clinics at Reaching Our City, athletes through SNU athletics, or outreach.

As a training postgraduate candidate for licensure at Renew, therapists receive:
